The house is located on the wine road leading to the village of Destrnik with its school, church, Post Office, community centre, doctor’s surgery, small supermarket and bar. There is a good community spirit and a warm welcome to new residents. The local bus passes through the village daily to Lennart and Ptuj. Ptuj is only 15 minutes’ drive away. This historic spa town rests on the shores of the River Drava. has full

 amenities as well as tourist attractions such as its castle, Spa, water sports and railway station with trains connecting Slovenia to Hungary, Austria and Croatia.

 Ptuj also hosts several music and cultural festivals throughout the year. The region is known for its

natural beauty offering both walking and cycling routes close to vineyards, woods and lakes. Traditional bars and gostilna are plentiful along the way! There is also fishing, hunting and horse riding available in the area. The city of Maribor is close by with its Porjorgie National Park and ski lift.


Getting there:


There are excellent motorway links from Ptuj, east towards Murska Subota, south towards Zagreb and west towards Ljubljana (capital).

Flights are readily available with Lufthansa, Wizzair and EasyJet from the United Kingdom and other European countries, flying to Graz and Zagreb

 in Austria, Zagreb in Croatia and Ljubljana. Klagenfurt and Budapest flights are also within driving distance. There is also a rail and road link to Vienna
